We want to change the way our community responds to homelessness.

Dignified living

At the core of the program are thoughtfully designed and fully furnished tiny homes. These 420 square foot cozy dwellings offer a sense of security, privacy, and comfort to Vista Village residents. Each tiny home is equipped with essential amenities such as a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living area and storage space.

At Vista Village, we believe that a strong sense of community is essential for enriching lives. That's why we've thoughtfully added a front porch to each tiny home, inviting neighbors to connect with one another and forge lasting friendships.

Comprehensive on-site services

We understand that each person's journey is unique, and we have partnered with leading service providers to offer comprehensive services tailored to meet their specific needs. Through these strong partnerships, we ensure that residents have access to quality treatment and programming just steps from their front doors at the community center. With services like primary care, mental health treatment, substance use recovery programs, GED preparation, vocational skills training, and others, we are committed to empowering our residents on their journey towards a brighter future.

A community-first approach

A supportive community plays a vital role in fostering well-being and a sense of belonging. For those striving to rebuild their lives, the presence of strong support and connection becomes indispensable. For this reason, Vista Village aims to move beyond transactional interactions, centered around meeting immediate needs, and cultivate a relational approach that focuses on meaningful connections and relationships.

We invite volunteers to join us in building lasting relationships with residents. Whether it's enjoying a cup of coffee together on a front porch, tending to the community garden, hosting a cookout at the park, or playing games at the community center, your presence and compassion make a profound difference in creating a supportive and inclusive community at Vista Village. Together, we can foster an environment where connection and understanding flourish, and every individual feels valued and heard.

01. REFERRAL

Vista Village residents come to the Village through a referral process. Vista Village has partnered with local social service agencies who provide case management to people experiencing homelessness.

When a partner agency has a client in need of housing who is ready to begin their journey towards healing, employment and self-sufficiency, he or she will be referred to Vista Village.

The Model

02. SERVICES

Once living at Vista Village, the resident continues receiving case management services from their referring case manager.

He or she also participates in programs and services at the Community Center that meet their unique needs.

The services are evidence-based and address the most common barriers to maintaining stable housing.

03. PREPARATION

As long as the resident is adhering to their case plan, the Village rules, and making progress towards their goals, they will be permitted to remain in the program.

Once the resident's barriers to housing have been addressed and overcome, and stable employment has been secured, Vista Village and its partners will work with the resident to identify permanent housing options.

04. GRADUATION

Upon securing permanent housing, Vista Village will host a graduation celebration for the resident. As a successful graduate of Vista Village's transitional living program, the resident will be encouraged to take all of the tiny home's furnishings with them to their new home.

We hope that upon graduation, he or she will return to Vista Village as a volunteer or mentor for a future resident!
